RGD321 is an RGD series electric guitar model introduced in 2010 at the Summer NAMM Show. It was the first hard-tail RGD model, based on the RGD320 introduced earlier in 2010. The RGD series guitars are a metal-oriented line from Ibanez, focusing on appearance as much as performance. These are aimed at players who want to tune below concert pitch from the start, but are set up to be able to use regular gauge string sets because of the longer-scale neck. No more .60 low-E (D, in this case) strings to get murderous tunings! Drop C (My Curse by Killswitch Engage) is as simple as dropping your low-D down to match the Cs vibrations. Drop B? Easy, too. Its ready to rock right from the factory.
Features of the RGD include a basswood body, the Gibraltar Standard bridge, Ibanez-made pickups and an extra long 26.5″ scale length to facilitate the “full step down” factory tuning (DGCFAD). This is a metal players guitar, with the lower standard tuning and the pickups, which provide plenty of harmonic content for pinch or artificial harmonics that are so widely-used in metal today. The Wizard II neck shape was renamed Wizard III in 2011.

- Premium Fret Edge Treatment
The premium fret edges are processed to be specially rounded for smooth play and comfortable neck grip. - CAP-VM1/VM1S/VM2
RG Premium guitars produce the tone of great diversity, from pure clean to aggressive distortion sound with newly developed pickups, CAP-VM1, VM1S and VM2 which work in great combination that enables such versatile characters. Also, minimum sound loss by adopting OFC coil. - Edge Zero II
Installation of the zero point system in the Edge Zero II makes tuning easier and faster as well as providing stable tuning for long performances, all while maintaining smooth tremolo playing. Loss of tuning is kept to a minimum even when a string breaks. For players that prefer a full floating system, simply remove the stop bar. - ZPS (Zero Point System)
No friction points make the ZPS the smoothest Ibanez Back Stop ever. An additional outer pair of springs provides easier tuning and better tuning stability than the traditional floating tremolo-plus the other strings will remain in tune if a string breaks. - Switchable To Floating Trem
One of the best ZPS features! Just remove the stop bar and the ZPS easily changes to floating trem operation. - Manually Adjustable Spring System
Spring tension can be quickly set by thumb. Theres no need for a hex wrench.
